Have you noticed how many Plug Sites there are online at the moment? A LOT, and a new one seems to open each and every day. There used to be only a handful, they were all unique and they all really helped in getting your site 'out there'
Now they generally all look the same, have the same features and some even the same or very similar names...for me at least a lot just merge into one.
For a long time i'd plug myself on any Plug Site i could find, every time a new one popped up i'd bookmark it right away, it's only more recently i realised "What's the point?" after looking at my trackers, domains cpanel stats and referral scripts...half of these sites send very little or even no traffic at all! So now my 'Plug Sites' favourites folder consists of about 15 links rather than 100 and i'm sharing that list with you :)
I'm not saying any site not listed here is not worth the effort, just that the following, in my opinion and through my own experiences, are the best of the best.

Personal sites
Personal sites are not plug sites, please respect that fact and do not use them just for the plugboards.
Other
As with the personal sites please remember that the main ideas behind these sites have nothing to do with plugboards. Only use the plugboards if you plan to take part in the sites as a whole. Do not abuse them.

- Pixelfx - Wonderful tutorial site.
And that my friends is the ultimate list, save yourself time and effort but still get the same amount of hits :)

2. Buttons for the 88x31 plugboard must be 88x31 pixels in size exactly. Buttons for the 80x15 plugbaord must be 80x15 pixels in size exactly. Banners for the 468x60 plugboard must be 468x60 pixels in size exactly.
3. Make sure your host allows direct linking (plugboard).
4. No Porn sites, no 'Free ipod' sites or similar, no referral URLs and no Begging sites and no sites promoting illegal activity. (or any site an admin deems as inappropriate)
5. 'Chatting' on the Tagboard is not allowed, it is for site promotion only.
6. The Admin of Plugboard.org reserves the right to remove any plug for any reason, whether stated here or not.
7. Please visit some other plugged sites while you are here. It's how Plug sites work.
