People have been trying to flout the 'No referral URLs' rule a lot lately. Here's the general rule of thumb, if it's a site you created yourself and put effort and time into it's fine, even if it's a shop or list of your referral URLs - but adsense blogs, direct referral URLs or links to your shop on some pre set up website are not OK. From now on it's a zero tolerance rule, if you post something that breaks this rule the domain will be blocked as will your IP - one strike and you are out, I am going to be strict about it so that hopefully people realise Plugboard.org is not the place to chance your luck and try get away with it. If you are unsure about a URL you want to post, just check with me first and I will be happy to let you know if it's OK. Thanks.

Quick reminder, absolutely no referral URLs guys...Plugboard.org is intended for websites to plug on, if you want to pimp referral URLs do it on your own personal websites. Also, no begging sites...this seems to be a bit of a new trend and it's one I don't like. Zero tolerance policy since a lot of people seem to be posting this stuff at the moment, URLs will be banned after the 1st time they are posted and IPs banned if there is a second attempt to post.

Two reminders...
1. You may only plug your site once, a new PlugSite that seems to have registered itself about 10 domains keeps plugging all the URLs, your site may only appear on the board once regardless of how many URLs it has!
2. Please do not bring your drama here. I have enough of my own online drama without getting involved with yours! I have neither the time, desire or patience to find out who's right and who's wrong, who started it, who did what etc etc and my policy is simply that anyone whos involved gets banned, so if you don't want to get banned...take it elsewhere, thanks.

I added a Plug Site Guide a while ago. I also just added some premade Plug Site layouts for you to use, you can grab those on the Download page.
I also changed the Plug Sites listing page, so that it now uses a directory script so I no longer have to manually add links. I will go through the sites already on the list and add the sites that are clearly still active myself, but you should go ahead and submit your link any way :)

Pleeeeease use the correct sized image on the boards, 88x31, 80x15 and 468x60 respectivly...using the same image on all 3 boards is not OK...it isn't Rocket Sciecne people. I am going to start banning repeat offenders.

I was having some DNS issues with this place the last week or so, everything is fixed now though :) If you joined the topsites or filled out any of the forms here though I am afriad I didn't get them so please do so again!
I made a few minor changes here and there, I made the 468x60 Plugboard a lot bigger...banners were being pushed off it in a matter of hours! I also added the link dump, 468x60 Plugboard and 80x15 Plugboard to the download page for the lazy ones amongst you! I also made a few minor changes to the main Plugboard script, nothing major...just general maintinence, so if you have a moment please go and grab that and update your script, the only files you actually need to overwrite are plug.php and config.php, thanks :)

So does anyone know what Plug sites are great at the moment? I need to update my Plugging guide as it is no longer acurate, I already removed some from the list and more need to go…but I don’t have any new ones to replace them with! When I made that page there were probably a few 100 plugsites so pretty easy to work out which ones were the goodies, now there are a few 1000 plugsites so it’s a lot harder to keep track :(
I especially need links for the Plugsites and Sites with Plugboards sections, so tell me, which plug sites do you use that you know work? Which ones are well moderated and always nice and clean and tidy? Any that have something special about them that makes them stand out?
Please let me know, I really need your help on this

Will probably be removing the Junk Plugboard since no one is using it as I intended and it is just causing me more work, referral links and the like will have to just be outright banned here on Plugboard.org which sucks, but what can I do?
Also sites with that freaking 'winfixer' popup are now officially banned, from the plugboards, tagboard, advertising...everything. It's the most obnoxious and intrustive advert ever and it crashes my browser, no more winfixer!

Quite a lot of the sites that have used the Junk Plugboard need not, personal sites, hosting companys and sites/pages you have personally created in order to have people vote for you in a comp or sell something are all fine for the main plugboard. If in doubt just post it on the main board and if it doesn't belong there I will move it, no big deal. Or you could mail me first to check if a link is ok for the main board or not, thanks :)

Everyone, meet Junk Plugboard, Junk Plugboard meet everyone.
Recently I am sick to death of people posting 'junk' links on the boards, the intention of this site is to gain traffic to your website, I don't care if your website is personal, a blog, a fanlisting, toplist, message board, company etc as long as it is a proper website...what this site is not for is for people to try get referral points for free crap or votes in topsites or sites of an adult nature. However i'd still like to offer those people a place to plug those things, I think most people at some point have had some link we've really wanted to get 'out there' but known we aren't allowed to plug it on Plugboards...so this is where the Junk Plugboard comes in, as long as people still respect the other rules they can post that crap there.
Should you plug something I deem as Junk on the regular boards I will move it to the Junk Board once and hope you take the hint, if you plug it here again it will simply be banned and if you can't work out why from this, tough.
In addition I am getting tougher in what can be posted on the Link Dump and tagboard, so if you notice your plug got deleted that means you may not post it again. For example don't plug on the tagboard pretending to be called Samantha and suggesting people come look at your pictures...and don't plug a games site on the link dump using profanity or masked profanity...I have no issue with either of those links, just the way they are being advertised.

1. The 80x15 plugboard is for buttons that are 80x15 pixels in size. Please stop using bigger buttons on it, i do delete them.
2. The tagboard is not for chatting, it is for site promotion only. Any questions or comments for me can be sent via the contact page or ask me script!
3. Please don't bypass filters, if i have the plugboard to set up so you can't plug more than twice a minute, or the site twice, or if i've banned your domain etc then i have done it for a reason. I take finding ways around the filters as you being disrespectful and i do ban people who do it.

I updated the Plugboard.zip...the updates arent important or urgent, plus it'll be getting some more updates within the next few weeks so most of you probably won't bother with this one....but if you do go download and install it please let me know how you get on, i'm a bit worried about the usability of the valid referrer thing.
So you know, the big updates include setting a valid referrer (ie: your own site) so that people have to be on your site in order to use the Plugboard. I don't want to go into too much detail as it will give people ideas...but it basically stops people from being able to remotely plug themselves on your board.
Also a different/better way of banning URLs, with the script now, in order to ban swaymyway.com you'd have to add http://swaymyway.com, http://swaymyway.com/, http://www.swaymyway.com, http://www.swaymyway.com/ etc etc Now you just put in swaymyway.com and it is fully banned, as is anything underneath it (swaymyway.com/subfolder is automatically banned for example).
Coming within the next few days will be a special offer on Monthly stickies, so if you were planning on buying a weekly one get in fast because there won't be any weeklies available for a while.

Very little to report. I updated the donate page to add i cannot accept credit card payments and to add a link to my Amazon Wishlist. To be honest i never expected so many people would donate/want to donate, i always thought those pages were just wishful thinking heh
You'll notice the donate page has a little * next to it in the navigation menu now, that is because (if you didnt already work this out) the most recently updated subpage gets the star so you know where to look for new content/updates :)

Someone was trying to attack the site and i had to write a bit of quick code to stop them doing what they were doing, i have done that but don't have time to 'perfect' it so as to fix that error right now. I'll do it in a few days, in the meantime just ignore it and use the site as normal :)

Apologies to my lovely visitors for the flooding going on right now.
The good news is it shouldn't affect you too much as my FTP client is set to grab the plug.db.php file every few minutes so it only takes a second to restore things after they have done, plus i have 5 people keeping an eye on the site for me while i'm sleeping, so unless you have really really bad timing you should be fine lol
I know the people responsible, i won't post his URL just yet as i'll give him/them the oppertunity to stop on their own but if they don't i'll let you know who it is so you can do as you please with them. Thankfully everything they are doing is logged, i have screencaps to prove which site the 'attack' is coming from and my host is currently dealing with reporting them to the correct people and getting said site shut down/the script they are using blocked.
Thankfully this person isn't the sharpest tool in the box and has provided me with all the evidence needed to show it is them...and also all the code for the automated script(s) they are using to flood this site and others so when i have more time (i'm actually just back from a funeral, nice thing to come home to huh?) i'll work out how to block them from running.
In the meantime please continue to use the site as normal and just ignore the occasional broken buttons you may see :)

I can't believe i'm still having to put up reminders here, you'd think people would know by now.
1. Your plug should only appear once on the plugboard, that doesnt mean you can plug yourself as many times as you like as long as you change the button, or if you are almost off the plugbaord. ONCE and once only, repeat offenders will start getting banned.
2. I'll be adding a new rules in a moment that says the following...if you screw up and accidentally post a broken button or URL...then that's tough on you, that is your 'plug' and you may not try again (and again and again and again and again) until you get it right. You may try again after i've removed the broken plug or that broken plug is pushed off.
3. The 80x15 plugger is for plugging with buttons that are 80x15 in size, i don't know how so many people don't realise that and just post their 88x31 buttons, surely you can tell by looking at it that they are not regular sized buttons? If i continue having to delete about a third of all plugs added to it then i will just remove it.

I wasn't planning on doing this yet, but it seems like a sensible time to do so now. I wanted to add one more thing to it before offering it for download but it's proving more difficult than i'd imagined, i'll just add it as an 'add on' at a later date instead. Anyway please go download the updated Plugboard script, apart from a few new features it also fixes a certain flaw some of you may be aware of!
If for some reason you cannot or do not want to update then please at least to the following (especially if you run a plug site), this slight change makes it so someone cannot post rather large adult pictures :P
Open Plug.php and find:

If you want to sell advertising on your own site, fine, but write your own damn advertising page!
If you want to sell sticky buttons on your own plugboard, fine, come up with your own name for them and write your own damn sticky button page.
If you want a Plugboard tutorial on your own site, fine, write your own damn tutorial though rather than copying mine and changing 2 words of it.

Plugboard Version 2 is almost ready for release, are you excited? Of course you are :)
This version is just...better than the current script, neater, most of the updates won't be noticable to users, but they are to me! It also has lots of new features including....easy IP ban, easier way to block domains and everything you need to make it 'pretty' is controlled by a config file.
After that is out i'm going to start work on the 'Advanced Plugboard' same concept obviously, but it will have an admin area and use MySql etc instead....fun huh?

Plugboard.org has reached 10000 hits already, wow! Plus 500 people have downloaded the script from this site in less than 2 months, pretty impressive huh?
I'm looking for people who have advertised here, either banner advertising or Sticky buttons, to write a short testimonial about my service. Theres SO many plug sites out there now, new ones opening each day, each offering banner advertising and now Sticky buttons too, (come on, at least come up with your own name for them you unoriginal skanks! :P) So now seems like a good time to remind people that Plugboard.org is one of only a handful of Plug sites that is actually busy, active, popular and likely to send you any kind of traffic if you pay for advertising :D

I'm working very hard on the plugboard script at the moment. It doesn't look (please feel free to plug yourself on that too, it could do with testing i guess!) like much i know, but theres a lot of behind the scenes work going on.
It should now be easier to customise as all options are in a config file so if someone just wants a 'default' board they shouldn't even need to touch the PHP file! My button now appears on the board rather than a text link (which still may be removed, no forced credit here!). The buttons now fit 2 in a row and are center by default as that is what most people seem to want. Flood control and spam protection, easy IP banning and lots of other little things.
I just need to work out how to get

I finally got around to fixing the tagboard so longer words are allowed in the 'Name' field. Added a Referrers page. Added some new information to the Faqs page. Changed the prices for Banner Advertising as i said i would and come up with the Sticky Button concept, which i think is cool, but then...i would!

I modyfied the Plugboard slightly, added Flood control and better protection against dead links/buttons being posted among other things. If all goes well i'll add it to the downloadable script, so if you get any odd errors or have problems plugging now please let me know!

Ok no more 'Free ipod' plugs, i have no objection to referral URLs but this site is intended to help people get traffic to their sites, not free ipods. I added an Ask and Answer script so you can ask me site/plugboard related questions, no 'help me' questions though please.

Please note Rule 1. There's currently 2 people who's buttons are on the board 2 or 3 times constantly. I understand it happens by accident sometimes and i'm not going to be anal about it, but some people are clearly ignoring that rule and doing it on purpose. Repeat offenders will be banned. thanks.

2. Buttons for the 88x31 plugboard must be 88x31 pixels in size exactly. Buttons for the 80x15 plugbaord must be 80x15 pixels in size exactly. Banners for the 468x60 plugboard must be 468x60 pixels in size exactly.
3. Make sure your host allows direct linking (plugboard).
4. No Porn sites, no 'Free ipod' sites or similar, no referral URLs and no Begging sites and no sites promoting illegal activity. (or any site an admin deems as inappropriate)
5. 'Chatting' on the Tagboard is not allowed, it is for site promotion only.
6. The Admin of Plugboard.org reserves the right to remove any plug for any reason, whether stated here or not.
7. Please visit some other plugged sites while you are here. It's how Plug sites work.
